Seasonal festivals

Our seasonal festivals showcase our children’s talents, celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds, and bring everyone together for games, art, food and fun. They’re our way of saying thank you to the families who make up SA-Kids.

This year’s festivals: Open House (September 8), Pumpkin Festival (October 21), Thanksgiving Feast (November 19), Santa’s Breakfast (December 8), Christmas Program (December 16), International Festival and Short Children’s Program (January 26), Literacy Festival (February 23), Spring Concert (April 7), Mother’s Day Tea (May 6), Art Festival (May 19), Father’s Day BBQ (June 17), Promotion (June 30, date to be confirmed). Children’s events 2026–27

Every month brings something new: themed weeks in the classroom and visiting programs from off-campus companies. Here’s this year’s lineup.

July 15: Mobile Critter Zoo (visiting program)

9:30 a.m. · Visiting assembly

The children are really going to love the visiting Critter Zoo! Guests include an animal trainer, a parrot, hedgehog, ferret, snake, chinchilla, iguana, tortoise, guinea pig and a bearded dragon lizard.

July 20–24: Space Camp

Who can build and decorate the most creative rocket ship? Children learn about the planets, constellations and the solar system, make and decorate planet cookies, and enjoy stories and colorful outer-space light shows at rest time.

August 11: Tide Pool Exploration (visiting program)

9:00 a.m. · Visiting assembly from the Aquarium of the Pacific

Children make their way through a visiting tide pool, touch living ocean animals, and learn about the many shapes found in sea creatures.

August 24–28: Camping Week

Going on a bear walk, telling stories around the campfire, making trail mix and leaf rubbings, learning about animals that live in the mountains, and more!

September 16: Dino’s Rock (visiting program)

9:30 a.m. · Visiting assembly

At an outdoor assembly, a naturalist shares real facts about dinosaurs. Children explore large fossil replicas and smaller real fossils, and each child takes a small fossil home!

October 5–9: Circus Week

Carnival games that build gross and fine motor skills, making clown hats, learning about circus animals, making “elephant toothpaste” and more!

November 5: Fairytale Theater

Our teachers are the actors, the sets are hand-painted, and the children are the audience.

December 2: Making (and Eating) Gingerbread Houses

Children show off their fine motor skills and creativity making beautiful, edible gingerbread houses.

January 20: Stories About Children from Across the World

Our teachers create a puppet show with stories about children from around the world.

February 4: Children’s Literacy Tea

Finger sandwiches, iced apple juice, and a princess who reads and tells stories.

March 15–19: Community Helpers Week

Children learn about our community, see real police cars, fire engines and dump trucks, and hear real-life stories from community helpers, with time to ask questions.

April 19–23: Learning About Nature Week

Earth Day: Thursday, April 22 · Arbor Day: Friday, April 30

Stories, planting trees and flowers, nature walks, learning about composting, and more.

May 17–21: Physical Fitness Week

Part of Physical Fitness Month

Tricycle races, basketball games, a special jogging course, an exercise class and yoga sessions, plus making yummy, nutritious snacks.

June 11: National Children’s Day

Bubble activities, homemade ice cream, games, arts and crafts, and yummy snacks.

Learning academies and music

Specialized learning academies emphasize art, music, dance, computer, fitness, sports (soccer), cooking and gardening, and music educators lead weekly music sessions for every class. Physical Fitness Week includes tricycle races, a jogging course, an exercise class and yoga sessions.

Baby Signs®

Saint Andrew’s is proud to be a certified Baby Signs® Program center. All staff are trained, and signing is part of daily life with our infants and toddlers. More about our curriculum.

Lactation room

Saint Andrew’s is a breastfeeding-friendly center. Nursing mothers can use our private “mommies’ room,” stocked with goodies and resources. The room is dedicated to Dr. T. Berry Brazelton for his lifelong advocacy and love of babies and parents.

Wholesome food

Organic milk, beef, pasta and vegetables, cooked fresh on site every day. About our meals.
