Frequently Asked Questions

Don’t see your question? Call us at (949) 651-0198. We’re happy to help.

What ages do you serve?

Children from 6 weeks old through pre-kindergarten, in infant, toddler, early preschool (two-year-olds) and preschool/pre-K classrooms. See Programs.

What are your hours?

We’re open Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, year-round. Children arrive according to each family’s schedule. The Center closes for some holidays and staff-development days; see the calendar.

Can my child attend part-time?

Families choose a 3, 4 or 5-day schedule, and extra days can be added. See Tuition & Fees.

Are meals included?

Yes. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are cooked on site by our full-time cook and are free for enrolled children. More about our meals.

Is the kitchen nut-free?

Nuts are never served, and we don’t buy foods whose labels indicate any processing with nuts. Dietary restrictions such as food allergies are noted, and substitutions are made when possible.

What are your teacher-to-child ratios?

1 to 4 in infant rooms, 1 to 6 in toddler rooms, and 1 to 12 in preschool rooms, per our Parent Handbook.

How do you help with potty training?

Toilet training usually happens in our two-year-old classrooms. When a child seems ready, teachers and parents work together as a team.

When do children move up to a new classroom?

Each July the Center holds a “Big Move,” when children move to their next age-appropriate classroom. Most toddlers move to a two-year-old room around 24 months, depending on space and family preference.

Can I visit my child during the day?

Yes. We have an open-door policy: parents, guardians and designated adults are always welcome. Mothers of infants are welcome to visit as often as they like, and we have a private lactation room.

How will I know how my child’s day went?

Infant and toddler families get daily reports and pictures through the HiMama app about eating, diapering and how the day went. All families have parent–teacher conferences twice a year and developmental progress reports.

Is the Center religious?

The Center is an integral mission of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and we welcome children and families of all faiths and cultures.

How do I get on the waitlist?

Start with a tour, then complete a waitlist card. See How Enrollment Works, or send an enrollment inquiry.
